Aggie Football Prepares for Bison

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s football team took over first place in the MEAC with their 24- 14 win over Bethune Cookman.

The Aggies are off to their best start of the Broadway Era and the school’s best start since the 2003 season.

The Aggies are entering the annual “Greatest Homecoming on Earth” with four straight wins since losing to true FBS school, North Carolina-Chapel Hill. The Aggies have an overall record of 5-1 as they prepare to face Howard University.

The Aggies four-game wining streak is not the only streak they are trying to keep alive.

After losing seven straight homecomings, the Aggies are going after their fifth straight homecoming win.

Howard’s last win over the Aggies was in 2006 at Aggie Stadium with 26-0 as the final score. N.C. A&T is looking for it’s fourth straight win against Howard, which will seal the Aggies longest wining streak against the Bison, since 1989-92.

The Aggies have not lost at home to a MEAC opponent since 2013, suffering a 12-7 lost against Delaware State.

The Aggies have won eight straight at home against conference foes since the loss to the Hornets. The Aggies are off to their first 3-0 conference start since 2011.

The Aggies last 4-0 start in the conference was in 2013 and their only undefeated MEAC season was in 1999. They have never started 4-0 in the MEAC, without wining the title.

While the Aggies hold the No. 1 spot of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Howard is in the No. 11 spot, coming in last place in the MEAC standings.

Howard has an 0-4 record overall this season. Their Head Coach Gary “Flea” Harrell is in his fifth season in this position. He started as a wide receiver for the Bison from 1990-93.

Harrell took a leave of absence in 2013 and is 17-23 when on the sideline for Howard.
