No. 1 Aggies Beat Down Bison 65-14

In the first quarter the Aggies found themselves down by one point to Howard, 14-13 after the Bison’s quarterback, Kalen Johnson, connected with Tomlin Antonie in the endzone for a 15- yard touchdown reception with 10:34 remaining in the first half. The Aggies answered with an 86-yard drive that commenced after a masterful 31-yard touchdown from running back, Tarik Cohen.

After the Aggies scored the Bison went on a downward spiral, defensively and offensively. The Aggies scored in four plays starting with quarterback, Kwashaun Quick connecting on a 8-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver, Denzel Keyes. Cody Jones added a field goal before the half to give Aggies a 30-14 advantage.

Howard defense stopped the Aggies as they returned in the second half on their opening drive of the second half. Howard ended it’s first second-half drive with a fumble on a punt attempt which gave the Aggies the ball. The Aggies continued on the Howard’s 21-yard line, after quarterback, Lamar Raynard completed a 15-yard pass to Cohen and a 19-yard reception to Keyes to set up a 1-yard run by Cohen to all but put the Bison away.

The Aggies compiled 311 yards rushing as opposed to Howard’s total of 31 yards. Quick added 85 yards rushing and a touchdown on 11 carries. Running back, Amos Williams added 84 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Cohen finished with 137 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, this was his fourth career three touchdown game.

The North Carolina A&T State University’s football team secure it’s fourth straight winning season. The Aggies, demolished homecoming rival, Howard 65-14 to win the school’s fifth straight homecoming. The Aggies have won five straight and have no lost a Division I-FCS program all season. N.C. A&T have won nine straight over conference opponents at home since 2013.

The Aggies travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to face Florida A&M on Saturday, Oct.31 at 3 p.m.
