Police identified the body of a woman they found shot to death Wednesday morning as University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Student Body President Eve Carson.

The shooting happened off campus and police report that Carson was shot multiple times, at least one time in the head.

Chapel Hill Police have no suspects at the time but they are looking for Carson’s vehicle, a blue 2005 Toyota Highlander with Georgia license plate AIV 6690, believed to have been stolen in the incident.

Police believe the shooting was not premeditated but a random act of violence at this point but all details are still under investigation.

A vigil will be held in Eve Carson’s memory today at 7 p.m. in The Pit on UNC’s campus.
