Autumn is upon us! Outerwear lovers rejoice! The crisp, fall weather makes for endless outfit awesomeness. Who doesn’t love layering and accessorizing?
When putting together your looks for the season you don’t necessarily have to purchase tons of sweaters and long-sleeved shirts. Students have to “ball on a budget” sometimes. Here are some ways to work your summer pieces into your fall wardrobe.
Stop! Don’t you dare toss that short-sleeved shirt into your bin of summer clothing. Short-sleeved shirts obviously aren’t cold weather friendly but they can definitely come in handy when layering.
You can wear simple cotton t-shirts underneath your heavy knit sweaters. A little peek of color hanging out the bottom of your sweater and out the top of your collar is definitely trendy.
Black shorts are a chic summer staple that can also be worn in the fall. Try pairing your black shorts with a pair of black stockings. Please note that leggings are not tights. Monochrome is in this fall. Finish the look with a black pair of flats or boots and there you go!
Summer pastels are traditionally reserved for spring and summer. However, there are no more fashion rules. Pastels are in for the fall. Those pastel cardigans and trousers that you sported in the spring can all be worked into your fall wardrobe.
Wear your pastel pieces with patterns and prints to break things up. Keep it simple when wearing pastels in the fall. A little color goes a long way.
Are you eyeing that bin of summer clothes that you were going to take home during Fall Break? Good, take some of those items out and wear them during the fall.
