Friday morning, N.C A&T was put on a lockdown after a witness saw an individual carrying what appeared to be a rifle.
A&T officials implemented a campus-wide lockdown and search and surrounding Guilford County Schools shut down. The matter was resolved as the witness mistook a man carrying an umbrella for a man carrying a gun into the university’s General Classroom Building.
After carefully reviewing video footage from the building, officials caught the image of a person walking into the building carrying an umbrella with a strap hanging on his shoulder.
The investigation is closed.
