As I walked into Wild-N-Crazy Vintage, I am greeted by a big smile by storeowner Susan Watson. “Am I in Greensboro?” I asked myself. Yes, this vintage store is right around the corner from A&T and few blocks up from UNCG, and, as Susan explained, many still don’t know about it. The store opened September of last year and sits on the corner of Lee and Tate Street right beside Emzel Food Market. “I chose this location because it was close to the colleges and Tate Street without paying Tate Street rent prices,” Said Watson. This vintage store is for those who love to dumpster dive and thrift store shop. While many vintage stores up their prices due to the recent economic trends, Wild-N-Crazy Vintage keeps it affordable. Watson says, “I keep it cheap as I can to try to avoid having sales, I understand college students and I know they don’t have a lot of money.” Male and female clothing, furniture and accessories line the store. She has everything from Male Member’s Only jackets which she says fly off the rack the fastest, to 50’s polka-dot dresses and fur hats. My favorite items of the store were the numerous necklaces, gloves, glasses, hats and earrings she has. I was in accessory heaven. “The prices of the jewelry were surprising, a lot of vintage shops put most of their more pricier tags on their jewelry,” said Junior Fashion Merchandising major Antonia Elam. “I can spend a lot and get a lot, I like that.” Expect seeing new items in this store upon your arrival. The vintage store gets new items daily and keeps their selection open. Store hours include, Monday-Friday 11 to 7 and Saturday 12 to 7. The store is closed on Tuesdays. Watson says the best time to come in is on Sunday. She explains that this is the time when you can relax and have a goofy day. She wants for her and her customers to have a personal relationship without having the stress or pressures of buying something.
