Why we’re watching this show: It seems like Bon Temps, La., is going to Hell, but if psychic Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin) and Vampire Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer) can piece together a way to stop the unstoppable there just may be some glimmer of hope.
At the beginning of the season, the mysterious MaryAnn Forrester (played by Michelle Forbes) has been bent on claiming Sam Merlotte (played by Sam Trammell) as a living sacrifice and corrupting the good people of Bon Temps, making them into her own lustful, violent and reckless slaves to fulfill her ultimate goal of bringing a god to the Earth.
In order to save the day, though, unlikely alliances and maybe even some sacrifices must be made. The HBO series based on Charlaine Harris’ “Living Dead In Dallas” novels has closely followed the storyline of the book series so far, with a few deviations from the original plots just to give a few surprises for Harris fans.
The finale is rumored to be no different.Â
