Halloween costume ideas for 2010 – from Jersey Shore to Lil Wayne

You’ve got a tough decision coming up: what to be for Halloween. Deciding on Halloween costumes can be agonizing this time of year, so new ideas are always helpful.

If you’re at a loss, check out this list of suggestions featuring some fresh takes on costumes for this year. All of the costumes listed are also available at Costume Discounters’ online store.

Jersey Shore: Outfit yourself with some fake abs, bust on the spray tan or put your hair into a poof or blowout and you’ll be sure to get plenty of laughs as you disguise yourself as one of the lovable knuckleheads from this MTV reality show.

Avatar: With some blue body paint and a mask and fake weapon of choice, you can bring the characters in the blockbuster 3-D hit to life. You could even decide to outfit your whole family in costumes, as both adults and kids Halloween costumes depicting “Avatar” characters are available.

Lil Wayne: The dreadlocked rapper with gold teeth and an outrageous fashion sense presents the perfect opportunity for parody during Halloween.

Vampires: With the popularity of the “Twilight” movies and HBO series “True Blood,” you can’t go wrong dressing as a vampire this year. Costumes vary from the scary to sexy to kid-friendly costumes.

Candyland: You can probably blame Katy Perry for bringing back this style in her hit video for “California Gurls.” Costume stores this year are offering a variety of salacious takes on this one.

Zombies: Riding the resurgence in popularity of zombie movies and spoofs like “Zombieland,” there have never been more creative and clever zombie costumes to choose from.
