Primetime television is probably the hottest it has been for quite some time. For the first time in a long time, consumers are finding themselves glued to their television screens longer than they have been in years.
We are not only consuming more programs, but we are also consuming more programming in just one sitting. Shonda Rhimes contines to reign supreme with her shows, “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scan- dal,” and “How to Get Away with Murder,” all running back to back.
Rumors have surfaced that Rhimes has sold an- other show to ABC, making this her fourth with the network. However, Rhimes is not the only one responsible for the surge in ratings at ABC.
Family favorite, “Black-ish,” has also made a splash for their premiere. The whole family is back and no topic is off limits this season. The fact that we are able to find humor and a lesson in a topic as sensitive as the n-word only highlights the talent of ABC’s other script writers.
Perhaps the biggest suprise this fall season will be ABC’s new series “Quantico?” The series starts with a bang, literally. From there we follow un- dercover agent, Alex Parrish, and her fellow FBI trainees in a race to clear her name and save her career. As the episode continues you have to listen up and pay attention or you might just miss a key piece of evidence.
Not to be left out, FOX is trailing shortly behind with the highly anticipated return of season two of “Empire.” The ratings of this year’s premiere did not disappoint. Not only was the chemistry of the cast higher that ever, but this episode, in true “Empire” fashion, was a star-studded event. Cameos from Don Lemon to Chris Rock further fueled the anticipation of what star you might see next as the season continues to unfold.
Although FOX also recently premiered it’s new series, “Scream Queens,” the jury is still out. Be sure to read below to get the full dish on episode one. We will definitely keep our eyes peeled. Know any other great shows? We want to hear about them.
