Sodexo Strives to Fight Local Hunger

Sodexo joins the national No Kid Hungry team with their End it With Orange initiative.

No Kid Hungry is a campaign of the philanthropic hunger organization, Share our Strength. According to their website, the campaign’s goal is to end child hunger in America, by ensuring healthy food for children every day.

Aggie Dining Services and Greensboro Urban Ministry held a food drive in Williams Dinning Hall on Sept. 22nd with the theme “Rep Your Class.” During the drive, they announced that the class with the most donations would receive a $500 catering voucher.

Each class was given an orange box set to collect non-perishable items. Sodexo staff dressed in orange t-shirts to represent and state the mission of the End it With Orange campaign.

The Rep Your Class food drive collected over 400 donations, and named N.C. A&T staff as the winning team, with the sophomore class as a close runner-up. Director, Krystal Lee stated “Aggie Dining is proud to help the families of our community in this impactful way.”

If you were not able to make a donation at the food drive, take a pledge to end child hunger today t http://www.nokidhungry.org/pledge/action.

There will be another collaborative food drive with the End It With Orange campaign and the Greensboro Urban Ministry on Oct. 19. Come out and participate by donating non-perishable goods. Let’s see how many donations we can count to ensure healthy eating for children in our community.
