A&T partners with BB&T

NC A&T decides to move to greater heights by partnering with financial institution BB&T in 2013. On Nov. 15, students, faculty, staff, and Greensboro’s local communities gathered in celebration of their partnership.

This event drew the attention of many students this year as BB&T and A&T came together to accommodate commendable incentives for guests as they arrived.

BB&T had associates available to assist those who were willing to open their first account with the institution with the perks of gaining $50 upon completion.

“The main goal for A&T partnering with BB&T was to create a great relationship with an organization that is consistent in value and brand as our university as were seeking to do with a variety of organizations as we expand our image and reputation and visibility,” said N.C. A&T Chancellor, Harold L. Martin Sr.

A&T in the past has partnered with financial institutions such as Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, in an effort to build a great relationship between both financial and educational institutions. Moving forward, A&T has decided to adopt a different image and give a different approach to students in the upcoming future.

N.C. A&T is not only concerned about their image, brand, and visibility to the public, but they are also concerned about the future of graduating aggies.

“We are looking to create great opportunities for our graduates. BB&T is a widely recognized credited financial institution providing great opportunities and recruiting the very best of graduates,”

said Martin. “Were looking for partners like BB&T to also provide support for our university, programs, scholarships for our students and a long term lasting relationship with our university and they are a great partner,” he said.

The NC A&T family is not the only ones who were excited to partner with BB&T but the financial institution itself took pride in joining with such a fine institution such as NC A&T.

“Partnering with A&T is a way for us to enhance our relationship with the students, faculty, alumni, and community and really build on a great success of the growth of the branch reputation of BB&T and the great learning institution of North Carolina A&T,” expressed Canty Alexander, President of BB&T’s Triad region.

BB&T have already begun great efforts in creating great programs for A&T students such as programs centering on financial literacy to further educate those on how to handle finances.

“One thing were really proud about is it’s a business school, were looking to work with around 30 students next year in 2013 and develop ways that we can help students to think about ways to help save money and the importance of a credit report and discuss why it’s important to develop a credit report after graduation when seeking career opportunities,” he said

In order to make this partnership possible, A&T reached out to its advancement staff and chief financial officer to make sure that A&T would be represented to its fullest potential and a comprisable group of associates from BB&T collaborated by coordinating contract agreements, color themes, signs, and ironing out any other loose details for the future.

Were so pleased with the turnout! All the students, the band, the cheerleaders did a great job, it was just a terrific turnout for everybody,” said Alexander.

Live entertainment was provided by A&T’s own Cold Steel drumline and the A&T aggie dog as they provided the crowd with an adrenaline rush of excitement and Aggie Pride. Guests enjoyed free food, raffle drawings, and free door prizes as they were educated about A&T’s partnership with BB&T and the advantages that are available for those who partner with BB&T.

“On a day like this, the cheerleaders, the band Cold Steel, the Aggie Dog mascot, faculty, students, and staff all came to support our great efforts and I am very, very pleased,” expressed Martin.

NC A&T and BB&T look to expand their institutions to great heights and provide the best opportunities for graduates, associates, students, faculty, and staff.
