After an unsteady first two games the N.C. A&T Aggies regained its Championship form and looks to extend its winning streak to 16 games against Morgan State University.

Surprisingly, the Aggies have been the underdog, at least, in its first two games of the season.

With the offense performing subpar the defense stepped up, in the first couple of weeks, and aided the team to victory.

Game one being against Jacksonville State University (1-1) the Aggies headed to Montgomery, Alabama. Despite them having a lower ranking the Aggies defeated JSU, 20-17. Although the offense did not perform their best throughout the game, the defense made up for it, and forced enough turnovers, including a strip-sack by Darryl Johnson (Redshirt Jr.) to seal the deal.

Despite being on a 13-game winning streak, N.C. A&T was still being called an underdog, when it was time to face the East Carolina University Pirates (1-1). The Aggies rolled into Greenville, North Carolina with a chip on its shoulder, overcame adversity, and defeated the Pirates, 28-23. That win made it N.C. A&T’s third consecutive win against an FBS opponent.

The Aggies’ home opener was against Gardner-Webb University (0-2) on September 8th at BB&T Stadium. In spite of the offense, for the Aggies, being unable to move the ball efficiently against its first two opponents, they were a well oiled machine like the fans are used to seeing. Offensively and defensively the Aggies were in sink and secured its 15th straight victory, winning, 45-6.

This week the Aggies (3-0) will face off against MSU (0-3) in Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday, September 22nd at 6:00pm. Last season when the two teams faced off, N.C. A&T took the win with a score of, 49-17.

Marquell Cartwright (Redshirt Sr.) had a standout game against the bears last season, rushing for 176 yards, including a 72 yard run, and scored a touchdown.

“The MEAC Champions will win 35-14,” said by Derek Edwards, Mister N.C. A&T, on his predictions of the game this Saturday.
