The new convenience store, Elements, has replaced the well known C-store in the New Student Center, opening on Oct. 11, 2018.

Within Elements, students will have a variety of merchandise to choose from. Products range from Cantu shampoo, candy bars, to flower bouquets and NyQuil. Merchandise is organized into sections, including snacks, healthy foods, beauty supplies, laundry detergent and cleaning supplies.

The store is selling new items as well as familiar merchandise. A variety of beverages are offered in the refrigerated section of the store. Frozen foods such as Hot Pockets, personal pizzas, and Talenti Gelato are included.

Health conscious snacks were intentionally placed within Elements by the University to remind students of their healthy food options and merchandise. Healthy snack options included sunflower seeds, green bean chips, veggie straws, Nature Valley bars and peanuts.

“For elements, we are going to put more focus on providing healthy options,” said Robert Dancy, manager of Elements.

In addition to healthy options, the University has chosen to highlight and support two Aggie businesses: one student and the other faculty owned.

Students will be able to purchase organic soaps, spa products, and essential oils from Black Belt Soap Company, which is owned by N.C. A&T Liberal Studies lecturer, Dr. Temeka Carter.

Sweets by Alexandria’s cupcakes are also offered at Elements. This business was founded by sophomore marketing student, Alexandria Marrow. On opening day, the flavors of cupcakes including red velvet, chocolate and vanilla, sold quickly.

“Having my products sold in the Elements store has been a dream come true,” said Marrow.

Elements are considering several partnerships with other Aggie entrepreneurs, as well.

“If the product fits in with what we are trying to sell and has the right price, then we would consider partnering with that business,” said Dancy.
